un peu capoté…

my life in pictures

I’ve come to realize that with cake decorating comes lots of cleaning. In between decorating, I do a lot of counter-wiping, sweeping and dishes. One cleaning chore that I’ve been putting off is taking the fondant off of the dummy that I put together for my dad’s birthday. If the dummy cake were whole, I don’t think I would mind having it sit around longer, but the top was missing (since it was real cake), as well as the roses and leaves that decorated it.

It wasn’t very neat.

Anyway, taking fondant off a dummy cake is not easy, since fondant hardens. It involves a knife and lots of prying with fingers. Ouch!
